๐ House Upgrades Guide
The Farmhouse has 4 upgrade levels bought from the Carpenter's Shop. The first three shipped in early access; Upgrade 4 (the second floor) arrived in v0.14.0, and 1.0 adds exterior appearance customization once fully upgraded.
Farmhouse Upgrade Ladder (4 Levels)
The starting Farmhouse is only 13ร8 โ just enough for a bed and a few pieces of furniture. Be back before 2:00am or you will pass out and lose money and items.

๐ก Older early-access guides (e.g. GameRant v0.12.3) list only 3 levels โ that is outdated EA data. 1.0 has all 4 levels, with Upgrade 4 shipping in v0.14.0.
Unlock Chain
- Repair the bridge (60 Wood + 60 Stone) โ unlocks the Carpenter's Shop.
- Buy Home Upgrades 1 / 2 / 3 directly from the Carpenter's Shop, in sequence.
- Home Upgrade 4 requires completing the Story Quest "Upgrade the Carpenter's Shop" first โ the same quest line that unlocks the Greenhouse.
๐ก Upgrade 4's prerequisite quest "Upgrade the Carpenter's Shop" is the same quest line that unlocks the Greenhouse โ finish it and you get both at once.
Material Sources

๐ก Leveling Blacksmithing lets you craft your own Silver tools, saving the cost of buying them ready-made.
1.0 Exterior Appearance Customization
- Unlocks only after the Farmhouse is fully upgraded (all 4 levels complete) โ Landen sends a letter that unlocks exterior customization.
- Visit the Carpenter's Shop to choose from a selection of house exterior styles.
- Known issue: some players report receiving Landen's letter but the option not appearing immediately at the Carpenter's Shop โ confirm the final upgrade is truly complete (a possible minor bug or timing issue).
Kitchen & Workshop (Sold Separately)
- House upgrades do NOT include a kitchen โ the Kitchen and Crafting Table are bought separately from the Carpenter's Shop.
- Kitchen: unlocks cooking (place it inside the house).
- Crafting Table: used to craft furniture and items. The Basic Set (chair, bed, nightstand, window, wall, etc.) is sold at the Carpenter's Shop with recipes included.
๐ก To cook early you must first buy a Kitchen and place it inside an upgraded house. The house upgrade itself only creates the space for it.

๐ก Most furniture works both indoors and outdoors โ fences can act as indoor walls, and rugs can mark an outdoor picnic area. Shipping Bins are movable and can be placed in multiples for bulk selling.
Upgrade Priority
- Upgrade 1 (5,000t) โ do it early; expanding the main room is what lets you place a kitchen and furniture.
- Buy the Kitchen + Crafting Table โ unlocks cooking and crafting (add them right after upgrading the house).
- Upgrade 2 (15,000t) โ adds the west wing for a large space increase.
- Upgrade 3 (25,000t) โ adds the east wing (use it as a nursery, spouse room, or decoration space).
- Upgrade 4 (50,000t + Hard Wood / Refined Stone / Gold Ingot) โ endgame; adds a 3-room second floor. Requires the "Upgrade the Carpenter's Shop" quest line (which also unlocks the Greenhouse).
- After full upgrade โ Landen's letter unlocks exterior customization.
๐ก Wood and Stone are the big material sinks (500 of each across 3 levels) โ stockpile them whenever you pass through the mines, or buy them from the Carpenter's Shop (20t each) once you have money to save time.
