๐ Gift Guide
Every NPC can receive 1 gift per day + 1 conversation. Friendship only goes up. Birthdays give +20 bonus. Aim for Universal Loves.
Gift Mechanics
- Each NPC can receive 1 gift per day
- Daily conversation gives +7 Friendship Points (GameSpot). Players can talk to the same NPC multiple times per day (unlike Stardew Valley, which caps at 2/day)
- Friendship Points never decrease โ wrong gifts don't subtract points (for human NPCs; farm animals can lose hearts from neglect)
- Heart cap: 8 hearts in EA v0.15.3, raised to 10 hearts in 1.0 (wiki/Friendship)
- From 4 hearts: marriage candidates send a letter on the player's birthday and can be invited to the Shooting Star Festival / Harvest Festival (GameSpot)

๐ก Infusion does NOT override Banned rules. Floral Tea contains caffeine (can't give to kids/animals). Chicky Hot Chocolate does NOT actually contain chocolate โ safe for Dozy/Henrietta.

General Strategy
- Birthdays first: a Loved gift on a birthday gives +40, double the usual. Mark birthdays on the calendar and stock up in advance
- When unsure, give Universal Likes: Tulip Cake / Floral Tea (adults) / Chicky Hot Chocolate (non-animals) โ everyone gives at least +10
- Ultimate goal: Universal Loves: Scent of Spring, Cow-Shaped Donut โ +20 from anyone

How to Learn Preferences
- Elsie's daily Gossip: gives one "who likes what" hint per day โ the main source, especially for Saturday Market merchants
- Trial gifting: Liked/Loved gifts given once are recorded on that character's page; wrong gifts don't lose points, so experiment freely
- Around a character's birthday: other NPCs give gift hints for that character (Steam player reports โ may not auto-fill the preferences page)
