Step 1: Arrive in Mistria
When you arrive in Mistria, the town offers you an overgrown homestead in exchange for your help restoring it after the earthquake. Follow the intro quests — they introduce the townsfolk and the main storyline.
Step 2: Clear Your Overgrown Farm
Your farm is covered in weeds, rocks, and logs. Clear it to make room for crops and buildings.
- Scythe cuts grass and weeds
- Axe chops wood; pickaxe breaks rocks
- Use the shovel to expand your farming area and remove stumps
Step 3: Learn Your Tools
You start with basic tools. Most consume energy, so use them deliberately.
- Scythe — cut grass/weeds (no energy cost)
- Hoe — till soil for planting
- Watering Can — water crops daily
- Axe / Pickaxe — gather wood and stone
Step 4: Plant Your First Crops
In Spring, prioritize fast-turning crops like tulips and turnips. Replant as soon as you can afford more seeds to keep income flowing.
- Buy tulip and turnip seeds from the General Store
- Till soil → plant seeds → water daily
- Sell the first harvest of any new crop — you’ll often unlock a cooking recipe
Step 5: Build a Daily Routine
A consistent routine keeps your farm productive and your quests moving.
- Water yesterday’s crops first thing
- Check your mailbox for quests (e.g., Errol’s requests)
- Complete daily tasks for Renown and rewards
Step 6: Manage Your Energy
Running out of energy halts your work. The Sleeping Dragon Inn offers free soup daily — grab it for a stamina and health boost before heading to the fields.
Step 7: Make the Most of Rainy Days
On rainy days you don’t need to water crops — use the freed-up time and energy for the Mines, foraging, or fishing instead.
Step 8: Mind the Planting Deadline
The 19th–24th of each month are the last days you can plant new crops and still harvest before the season ends. Plan your planting early in the month.
Step 9: Meet the Villagers
Mistria has 30+ villagers, including 12 marriage candidates. Talk to them daily and give gifts to build friendship — loved gifts give the biggest boosts.
Step 10: Explore Further
Once your farm is running, branch out into the deeper systems.
- Fishing and bug-catching for the Museum
- Mining the Upper Mines for ore and artifacts
- Unlocking magic spells as Town Rank rises
⚠️ Common Beginner Mistakes
- Planting too late — remember the 19th–24th monthly deadline
- Wasting energy when the inn offers free soup daily
- Ignoring rainy days — they’re free time for mining and foraging
- Selling every crop — keep the first of each new type to unlock recipes
- Neglecting villagers — daily talk and gifts compound over time
